Winston Churchill called his depression his 'black dog'.
I found that a fitting description. You can leash a feral dog, but it will always be a wild and dangerous animal. It will lash out just when you feel you can trust it.
Killing it won't work as the dog was just its physical form. And the longer it's with you the more you will find it has become part of who you are. Owners look like their dogs right?
Keep fighting your demons. Never let your guard down.
lyrics
I saw you prowling, digging for bones
Roaming, scavenging, lost and alone
The sun disappeared, made way for the fog
As I took you in, black dog
Now, you’re a stray so I let you growl
I even let you bark and howl
I leave you be, let you chew your log
Just don’t you bite, black dog
But then you snapped and, out of tune,
started howling at the moon
And after that great monologue
You licked my wounds, black dog
I feel your breathing down my neck
I can’t think straight and all goes black
I shake my head. All is clogged
You’re on my tail, black dog
I spiked your food and your stomach turned
You died and your remains I burned
But I dropped smothered by the smog
On all fours, black dog
They found me near your ash and bones
With foaming mouth I huffed and groaned
Now I’m caged and take the flog
I’m on your leash, black dog

Merci Déhà for the download code. Lots of bands use these ingredients – pretty female vocals over doomy guitars always sounds good, but usually that's where the ideas run out. That isn't the case here. Each song is packed with ideas and evolutions, genres and references it's boring to list but not at all to listen to. A pleasure to have been introduced to this. Luke
